about Color fields art space

Color Fields Art Space is an art studio for children.  We celebrate curiosity and imagination, nurturing the process of creation rather than focusing on the outcome. We believe that art making is an essential part of the human experience!  At Color Fields we offer the space and time for children to direct their own ideas with materials in a safe and nurturing environment. Our goal is to support families as they foster these fundamental qualities. We connect with children through kindness, patience, respect, and humor.  We honor their uniqueness and celebrate their individuality.

about celia

I have been a teacher for 15 years.  I am a trained artist and a certified K-12 art teacher but I have taught all ages in many mediums.  I love making art and I LOVE instilling and supporting creativity in others.  I have 2 children, 6 and 9, and I am currently the teacher in a classoom of five wonderful two year olds at the Children’s Cooperative Playschool.  I went to UNC-Asheville for an undergraduate degree and I earned an MFA at Rutgers University, Mason Gross School of the Arts.  I have a studio at my home in Carrboro, NC where I work across a lot of mediums.  I love learning and exploring materials and tools! I am currently working on sculptures made with ceramics and concrete.  You can see them here www.celia-gray.com

I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to spend my days with children as a creativity advocate.
